It makes sense to look for the best Prime Day espresso maker deals, because there’s no way around it: High-quality espresso makers are expensive. I’ve tested dozens of them and have come to the conclusion that if a coffee lover picks an espresso maker primarily because it seems like a good deal, they’re likely going to be disappointed. Amazon Prime Day is one exception to that rule (see also: Black Friday and Cyber Monday). While the best Prime Day espresso maker deals aren’t live just yet, there are still some early Prime Day deals to be had on machines from brands like Breville, De Longhi, and Nespresso. (Yes, we’re counting Nespresso machines as espresso makers here. Don’t panic coffee nerds, we know they’re a different sort of single-serve coffee maker. But as pod machines go, they make a nice cup of coffee).

This page won’t be filled with random on-sale items like some other Amazon Prime Day deal stories that might be bouncing around. If you see it here, it means someone on staff has some experience with the espresso maker and thinks this is a good get. No matter how steep the discount, you won’t find, say, a K-cup machine on here, because we just don’t think the coffee pods make great coffee.

As a reminder, you don’t have to be an Amazon Prime member to take advantage of most of these deals, but when the actual Amazon Prime Day espresso maker deals come online, they’ll be reserved for Prime members. If you aren’t a Prime member and are considering signing up for the Prime Day discounts, you can do that with the button below.

In the meantime, check out the early discounts below and make sure to check back for more Amazon Prime Day deals.

Fully automatic espresso makers deals

Fully automatic machines are exactly what they sound like. With the push of a single button, these machines will grind, tamp, brew coffee, and, if you ask them to, froth milk for a latte. For the espresso purist, or even the moderately obsessive home barista, fully automatic machines don’t offer the joy of precisely dialing an espresso shot. But for the people who want the best coffee they can get with the least amount of effort. These machines don’t require the annoying trial and error of dialing in an espresso shot.

Spinn Coffee Maker

This is one of the coolest gadgets I’ve come across in 2023, and it comes with a $150 coupon right now. The Spinn Coffee Maker uses a centrifuge to brew coffee instead of the standard drip or pump situation. The result of the method is that, while not brewing espresso in the traditional sense of that term, it mimics a delicious espresso coffee incredibly well. What’s more, it can also ape pour-over and cold brew in a surprisingly effective way in a matter of about two minutes. If you’re used to waiting 12 hours for cold brew, you know that’s really something.

Café Affetto Automatic Espresso Machine and Milk Frother

Café makes a phenomenal drip coffee maker, but they also do a nice automatic espresso machine that, even at full price, is already one of the more affordable machines out there. Right now, it’s discounted even more. The built-in milk frother can do cappuccinos, flat whites, and lattes.

Philips 3200 Series with Lattego

The Philips 3200 is simple as far as fully automatic machines go, but sometimes simple is best. It has separate buttons for each drink it can make and makes just five drinks (Americano, espresso, cappuccino, latte, and regular coffee).

DEAL: PHILIPS 3200 Series Fully Automatic Espresso Machine With LatteGo

Philips 2200 with Lattego

Basically this machine is the same as the 3200—but it requires you to separately dispense hot water for an Americano, and it can’t do a latte. Still, with an extra $150 coupon the discount is heavy on a quality machine.

Semi-automatic espresso machines

Semi-automatic machines require a little more work out of you. You’ll have to tamp the coffee grounds yourself and lock the portafilter (the thing that holds the coffee) into the brewhead of the machine. You’ll also have to steam your own milk using the machine’s steam wand if you want a flat white.

Rocket Appartamento

Espresso machines can cost astronomical amounts of money. My friends and I once a bought a 22-foot sailboat for considerably less than some high end espresso makers go for. So when there’s a discount—even a small one—on a good prosumer model (that’s a professional quality machine scaled down for a home consumer), you should take a look. The Rocke Appartamento is one of the nicer prosumer espresso makers you can get for under $2,000. It’s also got a real steam punk chic thing going for it. If you plan to work on the craft of espresso this is a machine that can offer great results.

Breville Infuser

This is a more “classic” Breville model (newer models like the Bambino Plus and the Barista Touch Impress come with more bells and whistles) that comes at at a very fair price for a rock solid performer. The built-in pressure gauge marked with the words “espresso zone” in the appropriate section is a great way to know if you’re pulling the best shot you can.

DEAL: Breville Infuser Espresso Machine

Breville Duo Temp Pro Espresso Machine

Here’s an even more classic Breville machine. This one works as well as the Infuser, but it comes at a much lower price because you have to turn a dial to produce coffee or steam instead of having a series of buttons to choose from. It also lacks a pressure gauge, so good espresso can involve more trial and error.

Semi-automatic espresso makers with built-in grinders

These work the same as (and are often the same brewing machine as) other semi-automatic espresso machines, but they come with built-in burr coffee grinders that grind directly into the portafilter. After testing a number of these, I will tell you that the added feature can be good and bad. It is so convenient to have a built-in grinder—convenient that you don’t need a separate grinder and convenient that you don’t have to dump ground coffee from a plastic catch container into the portafilter and clean up afterwards. But the downsides are that these grinders almost never come with as many settings as standalone burr grinders do, and they are also typically less powerful. For those reasons, I recommend you only use medium or dark roast beans if you go this route (the darker the roast, the easier it is to grind.

Solis Grind and Infuse

This is essentially my favorite espresso machine under $1,000 with a built-in grinder added on. One thing Solis has working in its favor is that the company also makes excellent budget burr grinders, so the one included with this machine may be more durable than others.

Delonghi La Specialista Arte

This Delonghi machine doesn’t offer a huge discount right now, but if past Prime Day sales are any indicator, I would not be surprised to see the price come down during the actual promotion period. It’s a nice machine that worked on par with Breville machines like the Infuser or the Barista Express. Just know that Delonghi has slightly differently sized portafilters, so if you have any extra equipment for a 54 millimeter basket, it probably won’t be compatible; you’ll need to use the Delonghi issued stuff.

Nespresso espresso makers

Nespresso machines are not espresso makers per se, but my colleagues Li and Emily have both found that they produce effortless espresso in a hurry—and that’s reason enough to love them.

Nespresso Latissima

Nespresso has branched out into including milk frothing capabilities. This machine is essentially a fully automatic espresso maker that uses Nespresso pods instead of beans. Easy and slick, if you’ve been using a basic Nespresso and want to upgrade, or are just Nespresso curious, this is is a good pick-up.
